Artistic Sparkles Between Finger Painting and

Justin Y is a self-taught, finger painter of Chinese decent. Based in Hong Kong, Justin’s work is currently showcased and collected by both institutional and private collectors throughout the world. From all that Justin has seen and experienced, what he feels is translated via his fingers. Without using any other tools, his creations come straight from his heart. These naked feelings come to life on the stones vividly; what he expresses is explicit, unambiguous and unpretentious.

Justin Y used to work in commerce with high-ranking jobs and good salaries. Painting has always been his interest. He learned the techniques all by himself. He decided to leave the stable job and become a full-time artist years ago. He does finger painting mostly. Only 1% artists do that in the whole world.

Justin has worked in collaboration with diversed brands. In 2014, Audi USA invited him to work with the then new A3 model by finger painting in Philadelphia. Also in 2014, he painted for the advertising and promotion of Sony Z3 in Hong Kong. In 2015, Justin became the first artist to crossover between art and British-Royal-Warrant-Holding perfume house The Penhaligon's; the collaboration saw the creation of unique artistic perfume bottles.

Justin's small stone series

Working with "kiwisual" is an inspiraing experience for Justin. He said: "'kiwisual's' stone is not just a stone but a transformative piece of art. Working on this process is a select of privilege few. This invitation to showcase their talent allows the sharing of culture, values and a sense of being."

Justin's small stone series

"No longer a static piece of ornament, the stone is a story. It engages the viewer on multiple levels. And through this process stands the test of time and space. Within a collective of talents from around the world, I am honoured to share my artistic journey. And with my finger painting, I am able to leave my prints on it - telling my story."
